Have wet carpeting in your vehicle? Check the air conditioner!
by Jamie Ruf
When a vehicle air conditioner is working properly there will be condensation dripping from beneath the vehicle. But when there is a problem with the system you may find that the condensation goes elsewhere. It will often leak inside your vehicle, right under your glove box, and onto the floor. The problem is that anything you have in that area will get wet, but the carpet will also get ruined. It can quickly become a home to mold and mildew!
As you are driving around Brisbane the last thing you want is for water to be leaking into your vehicle and onto the carpeting. If mold begins to grow it can make your vehicle stink and it can also cause allergy problems. There are several reasons that your vehicle air conditioner may leak water into the vehicle, including:
- Having a clogged drain hole. The water is supposed to drip from beneath the vehicle. But if the drain hole becomes clogged then it will cause it to leak into the vehicle.
- A faulty seal can also be the culprit when there is water leaking into the vehicle. It’s important to check the seals to make sure they are not faulty.
- The case seal can also at times not be working correctly, leading to a leak into the vehicle. Have the case seal checked to make sure there are no problems with it.
