Air Conditioning Services

For 2009, Keepin' Cool has simplified the service line-up and only offers three service options. Both procedures are carried out with quality and affordability in mind.

Air Conditioning Inspection only Service: $50.00 (all systems)
Keepin' Cool offer the most comprehensive Inspection available of your vehicles A/C system with a written report for only $45.00. This service includes a Pre De-gas performance check where possible, system De-Gas with free disposal of waste gases, followed by Nitrogen Pressure & Vacuum Leak Testing as well as Sniffer and U.V inspections as appropriate to ensure the system can be legally and reliably Re-Gassed.

This service offers extremely good value for money and tells you exactly what you need to know about your system condition and whether it actually needs a service (not all vehicles require to be Re-Gassed) or whether you have a problem that needs further attention before carrying out the actual Re-Gas.

Annual Service Check: $35
This procedure will establish the condition of your vehicle air conditioning system and includes:
  • Static & operating pressure checks
  • In-car delivery temperature measurement
  • Compressor clutch operation, clutch gap measurement and drive belt visual check
  • Check conditioning of condenser, pipes and hoses
  • Correct operation of condenser fan

Any problems, leaks or items of concern will be reported to the vehicle owner.  The options for repair or replacement will be discussed as necessary.

So if your system is working do use it regularly throughout winter and summer and get an annual inspection from Keepin' Cool to make sure it is running at peak performance and is fully charged. Alternatively if your system is dead now, do not put it off to get it repaired because it may cost you significantly more.

Air Conditioning Re-Gas Service: R134a systems $100.00
Please note: up to 1kg of Fresh/Recycled R134a refrigerant over 1kg incurs extra charge
Following a successful Inspection the system is then Re-Gassed. Included in this Re-Gas Service is the application of a deep vacuum to remove spent gases and moisture. This is followed by a vacuum leak check before refilling the system with the correct weighed out measure of gas, oil top up as appropriate and Ultra Violet dye. Once the Re-Gas is completed the A/C system is comprehensively re-tested to check the overall performance and all performance values are recorded on your invoice. Finally we back our work with a 6 month Gas Warranty.

Filter/Drier Replacement: Cost on application
The filter/drier ensures no particles or moisture circulates in the air conditioning system which can cause serious damage to the compressor. The filter/drier normally lasts 2 years, but if any system leaks are present then excess moisture generally renders the drier inoperable.

Please contact us for a personal quotation for your vehicle

Please note that Keepin' Cool DO NOT offer a Re-Gas Only Service. All customers must accept the Inspection Service and only after a successful Inspection will you get a Re-Gas Service. Unlike some other A/C Service outfits we do not subscribe to adding to global warming or breaking the law by gassing leaky or defective A/C systems. Please act responsibly and make sure that your system is tested and fit for purpose.

Note: It is illegal for anyone to Re-Charge/Regas a vehicle with a known leak.

Waste refrigerant removed from the vehicle will be disposed of in accordance with Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Act 1989

Contaminated Refrigerant Disposal: $20/kg

If the system has been leaking or open to the atmosphere for some time the refrigerant could have taken on moisture and road dirt which cannot be removed. Because of the potential for environmental damage, specialist processing is required in accordance with the Ozone Protection and Synthetic Greenhouse Gas Management Act 1989.
